Tank water that's clean, pressurised and actually usable.

Tank water is a bigger part of Gold Coast plumbing than the beachfront image suggests. Head west through Nerang, Carrara and the hinterland fringe and acreage properties routinely run on rainwater, sometimes with no mains connection at all. Meanwhile, a great many homes in the newer northern estates were built with a rainwater tank plumbed to toilets and laundry to meet development requirements — and a decade later, plenty of those pumps and switchover valves have quietly failed without the owner noticing they've been running on mains the whole time. Storm season adds the other half of the work: roof debris after a big blow will foul a tank inlet fast if the leaf guards and first-flush diverter aren't doing their job.
